The short version. When you send us an enquiry we pass it to one vetted local installation business so they can quote for your work. We do not sell your details, we do not pass them to multiple companies, and we do not add you to a marketing list unless you ask us to.
1. Who we are
WindowStandard is a trading name of DemandOS Ltd. DemandOS Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Our details are at the foot of this page, and you can reach us at enquiries@windowstandard.co.uk.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (reference: ).
2. What we collect

3. Our lawful bases
- Consent — for passing your enquiry to a matched installer, and for any non-essential cookies. You may withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interests — for the security and proper operation of the website, for fraud prevention, and for measuring the performance of our own advertising. We have weighed this against your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to retain records.
4. Who we share it with
The installer
Your enquiry is passed to a single vetted installation business covering your area. That business becomes an independent data controller for your data from that point, contracts directly with you, and is responsible for how it handles your information. WindowStandard is not a party to that contract and does not carry out the survey, supply or installation.
Our suppliers
We use service providers for hosting, email delivery, telephony and analytics. They process data on our instructions under written terms. We do not sell personal data to anyone, and we do not share your enquiry with more than one installer.
5. Where it is held
Enquiry data is held in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. Where a supplier processes data outside the UK, we rely on an adequacy decision or on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries: 24 months from your last contact with us, so we can deal with any dispute about the work or the introduction.
- Consent records: for as long as we hold the enquiry, plus 12 months.
- Website measurement data: up to 14 months.
7. Your rights
You have the right to be informed, to access a copy of your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to our processing, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
To exercise any of these, email enquiries@windowstandard.co.uk. We will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
8. Automated decision-making
We use automated checks to validate enquiries — for example confirming a postcode is real and detecting obvious spam — and to decide which installer covers your area. These do not produce legal or similarly significant effects for you. No automated profiling is used to make decisions about you as an individual.
9. Children
This site is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top of the page.
